This large, live edge slab was cut from a 400+ year old White Oak tree harvested from the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC
A rare find at 400+ years old. This slab is number 4 of 5. One finished slab table is in the possession of the heirs to the Biltmore Estate. One is in Lakewood, CO. and one is in Mills River, NC. The final slab is currently in my shop. Not currently on the market
Quarter sawn flecks and beautiful “flaming”. A very large section of “curl” also. Beautiful grain patterns. Remarkable live edge. Solid hardwood throughout.
A hand rubbed lacquer finish ensures years of hassle free use. Our proprietary flattening system will keep this table flat for another 400 years, while allowing seasonal movement.
Walnut timbers make up the “tulip” style base. Reclaimed from a homestead, ca1902, in Fines Creek, NC. the walnut was used as floor joists
